Camaro Scores Win #16 in Kansas | CamaroStoreOnline.com Race Recap
The Round of 12 in the NASCAR Playoffs kicked off with excitement at Kansas Speedway as Camaro secured another victory on Sunday. While it wasn’t a Playoff Camaro crossing the finish line first, Ross Chastain’s win marked the 16th victory for the Camaro this season, continuing what has been a dominant year for Team Chevy.
Despite Chevrolet's dominance this season, it wasn't for Chastain. In fact, he flew under the radar undetected for much of the race. However, in the final stage, Chastain found himself in a fierce battle with fellow Camaro driver Kyle Busch, both vying for their first win in 2024. However, the duel came to an abrupt end when contact with a lapped car sent Busch spinning and out of contention. Chastain capitalized, leading 52 laps on the day and holding off a late charge from fellow Team Chevy Camaro driver, William Byron, to secure the win.
Playoff Camaros: Staying in the Fight
While Ross Chastain put an exclamation point on the day for Camaro fans, the other Camaro drivers in the Championship hunt fought hard to keep their Playoff hopes alive. Chase Elliott, who started at the back of the pack due to an engine change, battled his way up to a Top 10 finish, overcoming adversity to keep his shot at a second title alive. William Byron delivered a strong 2nd place finish, while Daniel Suarez secured 13th, with Byron holding onto the points lead by a narrow 6-point margin.
Kyle Larson, the favorite heading into Kansas, wasn’t as fortunate. A flat tire early in the race derailed his day, and he ultimately crossed the finish line in a disappointing 26th
