🔎 How To Check Your Car — Model Year Matters
GM changed the front brakes for the 1998 model year when the Camaro was facelifted, so a 1997 car takes a different cover from a 1998 car even though both are 4th generation.
- 1997 on 17” or larger wheels → this is your set
- 1998–2002 on 17” or larger wheels → you need part 14027
The 1997 car is the last of the original 4th-gen body: exposed pop-up headlights and a rounded nose. From 1998 the Camaro has fixed composite headlights and a wider grille opening.
❌ Does NOT fit:
– 1998–2002 Camaro
– 1993–1996 Camaro — MGP does not make a cover for these years
– Cars running wheels smaller than 17”
– Any 5th or 6th generation Camaro
